Adventist CEO Already Active Member of GWIB
BALTIMORE - Governor Martin O'Malley announces a new leader for the Governor's Workforce Investment Board. William Robertson, CEO of Adventist HealthCare assumes the GWIB position immediately. GWIB is a part of the Department of Labor Licensing and Regulation and collaborates with Maryland's top business leaders on new workforce development initiatives.
"I am proud to appoint William Robertson as the Chair of the Governor's Workforce Investment Board," said Governor Martin O'Malley. "In working with DLLR Secretary Tom Perez, Bill will help guide Maryland to create a strong workforce ready for the 21st century."
Mr. William Robertson has served as President and CEO of Adventist HealthCare since 2000 and as a healthcare executive for the past 21 years. Adventist HealthCare is one of the largest private employers in Montgomery County with 7,200 employees and 450,000 patients seen each year.
"The Governor has chosen the right person to continue the tradition of innovation and achievement the Maryland's workforce and business communities have come to expect from GWIB," said Secretary Perez. "Bill's extensive knowledge of the challenges and needs of the employers and employees in Maryland is a great asset to the board. Bill joins the new Executive Director of GWIB, Eric Seleznow, a workforce executive from Montgomery County."
An extremely active member of GWIB, Bill Robertson has been instrumental in leading the successful Healthcare Industry Initiative Process. Bill is also an active member of a number of community organizations including: the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce Board, the Maryland Hospital Association Health Care Systems Governing Council and the Greater Washington Board of Trade.
