Sallie Hays-Sarelas has an extensive background in business development in both the private and public sectors, including information technology, telecommunications, hospitality and tourism and association management. As business development coordinator for Anne Arundel Workforce Development Corporation, Ms. Hays-Sarelas assisted businesses with their recruiting, retention and training efforts. No stranger to the E-3 concept, Ms. Hays-Sarelas collaborated with Anne Arundel Economic Development Corporation as their workforce development liaison to attract new and expanding businesses, as well as retain existing businesses. In addition, she managed the Maryland Business Works and Maryland Health Care Initiative programs for Anne Arundel County. Previously serving as corporate communications director for the Maryland Chamber of Commerce, Ms. Hays-Sarelas promoted business issues of companies throughout Maryland. Her expertise includes program management, marketing and corporate communications. Currently, Ms. Hays-Sarelas coordinates the healthcare, education and information technology industry initiatives of the Governor's Workforce Investment Board. A member of the Maryland Workforce Development Association, she serves on the Business Advisory Board of Broadneck High School, and served on Anne Arundel Community College's Hotel Advisory Board. Ms. Hays-Sarelas is a graduate of Old Dominion University, with a degree in business administration.
