Lynn M. Reed, Executive Director,

Lynn M. Reed is veteran workforce development professional with over 15 years of experience at the national,
state and local level. She has public and private sector policy, management, and operational experience
within diverse segments of the workforce investment system. As Deputy Director of the GWIB, Lynn managed the
activities of the Center for Industry Initiatives, which brings together and focuses various industry,
workforce, education and economic development stakeholders on a single outcome - a properly prepared
workforce that meets the current and future demands of Maryland employers. She also continues to lead the
GWIB's efforts to promote the Governor's Skills2Compete Maryland initiative aimed at encouraging
Marylanders to pursue at least two years of post-secondary education beyond high school.

Prior to joining the GWIB, Lynn served as Senior Director of
Business Partnerships for LRG, Inc., a management consulting firm in Northern Virginia. There she was staffed
to the U.S. Department of Labor Employment and Training Administration's Business Relations Group where she
worked to launch the President's High Growth Job Training Initiative (HGJTI) and managed the efforts for
select industries on the national level, including biotechnology, hospitality, and retail.
Lynn has worked on numerous other national initiatives that have including WIA, the Older Americans Act,
Job Corps, community colleges, youth programs and BRAC. Lynn is experienced at managing large national
projects, grant solicitations and grant applications. She has managed over $17 million in grant awards
for USDOL. Lynn also worked with the Department of Labor's Office of Youth Services bringing together
representatives from the Departments of Labor, Education, Health and Human Services, and Juvenile Justice,
and other key stakeholders around creating a shared youth vision approach to develop partnerships that serve
at-risk youth.
Prior to Lynn's national work, she was a manager with the Eastside Career Center in Baltimore and served
six years with Baltimore City Community College as Manager of Off-Campus Instruction.
Lynn is a graduate of Morgan State University and resides in Baltimore. |
